Thanks to all who took part in the Response and Recovery grant round

The Ecstra Foundation $3,000,000 Response and Recovery Grant Round closed yesterday.

Thank you to all those who took part. There are so many community organisations on the financial frontline helping Australians in financial need. The response to this grant highlights the immense strain communities are under as the financial repercussions of COVID-19 continue to unfold. Ecstra has responded rapidly, already committing $900,000 of grants to a diverse range of organisations. This includes grants to Zahra Foundation Australia (SA), Prosper (Project Australia) (NSW), Ballarat and District Aboriginal Co-Operative (Vic) and Peninsula Community Legal Centre (Vic).

The grants support these organisations to adapt and to deliver vital services and outreach to vulnerable communities navigating the financial and economic impacts of COVID-19. Charities and households will suffer as the economic strain of job losses, increasing debt, and lack of savings in Australian households multiplies over time.

We will provide further updates as we finalise grants in the coming weeks, to ensure vital funds are distributed quickly to those groups who are working hard every day to help Australians in financial need.
