Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation - Term 1 update

With Term 1 wrapped up we are delighted to share that Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation, our new financial literacy program, has had 170 school workshops bookings in just the six weeks since launch!

Designing and launching a new financial education program into schools has been a huge undertaking in a short timeframe. For Ecstra it was important for us to include diverse voices and expertise in this process.

Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation has been developed by education experts in collaboration with a financial education advisory group, providing diverse experience, insights and feedback. The workshops and resources are evidence based and aligned to the Australian Curriculum and the National Consumer and Financial Literacy Framework. The program provides classroom workshops delivered by trained facilitators in person or via live virtual sessions.

We are so appreciative of the contribution of our Financial Education Advisory Group, and thank them for generously sharing their experience, insights and feedback on the program.

This includes:
- Rachna Madaan-Bowman, Senior Practitioner for the Financial Wellbeing Program at South East Community Link - Allan Dougan, CEO of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT)
- Grace Draper, Youth National Reference Group of headspace
- Janine Farah, National Programs Manager at Young Change Agents
- Amber Finn, ABCN Accelerate program
- Rachel Noonan, 2020 Premier’s First State Super Financial Literacy and Capability Teaching Scholarship recipient
- Dr Tracey West, PhD, Lecturer at Griffith University Business School.

The program is provided at no cost to schools, enabling more students across Australia to access financial education at key life stages.

Thank you also to Emily Heath of Ernst & Young for her expertise and facilitation of the Advisory Group process and of course to Ecstra’s own National Education Manager Kate Crowhurst for her leadership and insights in managing this project.
