Building an integrated approach to financial wellbeing
In November 2025 Ecstra Foundation brought together community organisations, financial counsellors, educators, government, regulators and industry leaders for the inaugural National Financial Wellbeing Summit.
Participants shared a common purpose: to strengthen financial wellbeing for Australians.
Event summary:
The Summit created the opportunity to connect, share expertise and find common ground on the challenges Australians are facing today. It reinforced both the urgency of these issues and the need for more coordinated, system wide action. It also highlighted the depth of insight, experience and commitment across sectors, and the importance of genuine collaboration in delivering meaningful, lasting outcomes.
The discussions and insights from the Summit have helped inform a clear set of priorities for national action. These focus on strengthening coordination, improving access to effective financial education and support, and building the evidence and partnerships needed to drive impact at scale.
Together, these priorities provide a practical pathway forward, and an invitation to join a Shared Call to Action for governments, educators, community organisations and industry to work collectively to improve financial wellbeing across Australia.
